About the job Instrumentation and Control Lead
This position responsible for the instrument and automation system management of a large-scale Air Separation plant, producing gaseous and liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon products for our customers. The candidate will need to perform the following for instrumentation and automation system:
- Implement the Group's reliability and maintenance strategies, standards, best practices (BOP) and improvement plans to attain and sustain reliability KPI
- Lead and coordinate daily site maintenance activities (PM, CM) to ensure tasks are completed as planned
- Optimise resources required for routine and major maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot failures and recommend solutions, produce lesson learnt to share
- Lead root cause investigation for major unreliability events
Job scope :
Equipment maintenance and reliability management (Instrumentation & automation system)
- Demonstrate safe working mindset and champion safe work culture to staff and contractors.
- Lead and execute maintenance jobs for equipment such as: field transmitters, control valves, product (LIN/LOX/LAR) and total hydrocarbon analysers, local PLC and DCS hardware and network components, product metering, plant alarm, communication and CCTV system etc to ensure high reliability of such equipment.
- Familiar with CMMS system eg: SAP, Maximo or other platforms and able to utilize such system to plan, execute and close work orders for PM and CM.
- Familiar with one of the DCS system such as Hollysys, Supcon, Yokogawa, Siemens PCS7, Honeywell etc
- Practical experience in field instrument calibration and installation, loop checks, control valve maintenance and installation, analyser configuration and testing, PLC & DCS troubleshooting, basic PLC programming, network testing etc.
- Familiar with compressor controls and basic process controls.
- Attend daily morning meeting with other disciplines and production team to coordinate efforts in ensuring maintenance works are conducted safely and timely.
- Prepare and review technical documents, maintenance manual, work procedures and provide technical training to staff to improve competencies and consistency.
- Responsible for instrument measurement tools custody eg: multimeter, signal generators, field calibrator
- Perform periodic review of spares, setup material number in CMMS and review/update sparing strategy and plan for replacement of obsolete parts to ensure sufficient spares readily available when needed.
- Propose OPEX and CAPEX budgetary proposal for projects, major maintenance and yearly budget planning.
- Update on cybersecurity development, digital tools and other latest development for instrumentation and automation system.
Risk management and plant reliability improvement
- Familiar with risk assessment documents: JHA, FMEA, MOC
- Reduce CM work list by promoting proactive and preventive maintenance strategy in work.
- Proactively identify failure modes, evaluate existing mitigation to recommend any further actions and track closure of equipment reliability gap.
- Propose new technologies to allow early detection of failures and to resolve it as early as possible.
- Ensure major cost of downtime event is investigated and lessons learned are developed and implemented immediately.
- Manage systemic corrective actions reports to close gaps versus Group standards.
Knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor degree, major in electrical/electronic/automation engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of practical hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls, within the field of industrial gas/petrochemicals/oleochemicals.
- Familiar with ISA & IEC standards.
- Familiar with ASU operations is a definite advantage.
- Familiar with SAP system maintenance module is an advantage.
