Solution Architect
About the job Solution Architect
We're looking for a Senior Solution Architect to take ownership of designing and delivering complex web applications that run across hybrid environments—both on-premise and in the public cloud. You'll play a key role in making sure our platforms are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and able to handle high traffic loads. You'll work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to turn business requirements into solid, modern technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end web application architectures for hybrid deployments (on-premise plus AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Lead architecture design and reviews, focusing on scalability, high-traffic performance, and system resilience
- Set and enforce secure coding standards and best practices to protect applications and data
- Partner with development, DevOps, and security teams to embed security-by-design and meet compliance requirements (OWASP, GDPR, ISO 27001)
- Optimize cloud infrastructure and resource usage for cost efficiency—choosing appropriate services, auto-scaling strategies, and storage options
- Assess and recommend tools, frameworks, and platforms based on business needs, security posture, and scalability
- Create technical documentation, solution blueprints, and architecture decision records
- Advise stakeholders on architecture, infrastructure, and the development lifecycle, guiding decisions with best-practice guidance
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in software architecture, with at least 1 year in a senior or lead architect role
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect
- Practical experience building web applications with modern tech stacks (e.g., Golang, Node.js, .NET Core, Java, React, Angular)
- Proven experience with hybrid cloud/on-premise solutions and cloud-native services (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP Cloud Run)
- Expertise in secure coding, threat modeling, and security-first design
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems including CDN, caching, and load balancing
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure cost optimization (rightsizing, usage monitoring, pricing models)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog), and incident response
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare) with strict security/compliance needs
- Background in DevSecOps or architecture governance frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA)
