Job Openings Senior Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentic Development Lifecycle

About the job Senior Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentic Development Lifecycle

Our client is launching their Agentic Development practice in Singapore. This is a Day 1, market-creation hire. Most enterprise teams in Singapore are experimenting with AI coding assistants. Very few have made the jump to a true agentic lifecycle - where agents are orchestrated to own planning, implementation, testing, review and release as part of the engineering team.

We are hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to be that bridge. You will be deployed inside enterprise engineering orgs, prove what's possible in 30 days, and then scale it org-wide.

Payroll, benefits and compliance for this role will be managed by EOR partner in Singapore. Your day-to-day mission, clients, and technical mandate will come directly from the client.

What You'll Own

1. Client Transformation - From Pilot to Scale

You are the field lead. You will run discovery, map the client's current SDLC, identify high-ROI agentic opportunities, and run focused 4-week pilots with their engineers. Your goal is to convert pilots into multi-team transformation programs and become the trusted advisor to their CTO / VP Eng.

2. Build The Agentic Operating Model

You will design how agents actually work in an enterprise:

  • Build reusable orchestration layers - AGENTS.md, rules, skills, sub-agents, hooks, background / cloud agents
  • Create synchronous and asynchronous workflows that take toil away from humans - backlog triage, test generation, migration scripts, dependency upgrades
  • Connect agents to the enterprise - MCP servers, SDKs, internal APIs, Jira / GitHub / CI systems
  • Extend beyond engineering into Product, Design, QA and PM to close the loop

3. Make It Enterprise-Ready

Enterprises don't scale what they don't trust. You will:

  • Put guardrails in place - AI code review, security scanning, policy checks, eval harnesses
  • Run pragmatic model and tool evaluations - what model for what task, cost vs. quality trade-offs
  • Define metrics that matter - adoption, cycle time, review time, defect rate - and report them to leadership to drive expansion

What Success Looks Like in 6 Months

  • 2-3 enterprise pilots delivered in Singapore and converted into expansion
  • A Singapore-specific ADLC playbook that other FDEs can reuse
  • Reference architectures, demos and case studies that unblock the sales cycle

Who You Are

  • Builder first. You've been an engineer for 8-12 years and you are hands-on every day.
  • Field proven. 2-5 years in a client-facing technical role - Forward Deployed, Solutions Engineering, DevRel, or Tech Consulting. You are comfortable whiteboarding with engineers in the morning and presenting ROI to a CTO in the afternoon.
  • Agentic native. For the last 1-3 years, agentic tools have been your default way of building, not a side project. You have opinions on agent design that come from real enterprise use.
  • 0-to-1 mindset. You know how to create structure when there is no playbook, no big team, and no existing brand in the market.
  • Commercially sharp. You know how to turn a good technical outcome into a business case for expansion.

Technical Bar

  • Expert-level with modern agentic IDEs - agent modes, cloud agents, context / rules management
  • Agent orchestration patterns - skills, sub-agents, hooks, tool use
  • MCP and SDK-based integrations
  • Strong software fundamentals in at least two stacks - TypeScript / Node, Python, Java, Go, or Mobile
  • Fluent in Git workflows, CI/CD, testing strategies, and where agents add leverage in each
  • Solid grasp of LLM mechanics - context engineering, prompt design, model routing, evals, cost optimization
  • Bonus: Experience with enterprise rollout of dev tools - SSO, usage analytics, spend controls, data governance
