About the job Sales Director - Security
ROLE OVERVIEW
This mandate is for a hunter-style Sales Director responsible for opening, shaping, and closing net-new cybersecurity revenue across Southeast Asia. The role centres on driving new business across Threat Detection and Response, Managed Security Services, Cloud & Network Security, and Zero Trust architectures. The expectation is clear: build pipeline from the ground up, win complex pursuits, and secure new enterprise and public-sector logos in a highly competitive cybersecurity landscape.
The Sales Director owns the full sales motion end to end. This requires sophisticated enterprise solution-selling capability, strong technical fluency across cybersecurity domains, and the ability to engage senior security stakeholders early in the buying cycle. The position is designed for someone who thrives in new business environments, operates at pace, and can convert sophisticated technical capabilities into commercially defensible, board-level outcomes.
This is not an account maintenance role. Success is measured by your ability to open new doors, create demand, influence strategy, and close large, multi-layered cybersecurity deals across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Logo Acquisition
Drive aggressive net-new logo growth across enterprise and public-sector organisations in Southeast Asia. Uncover cybersecurity pain points, convert them into high-value pursuits, and consistently generate fresh pipeline across Managed Security Services (SOC, SIEM/SOAR), MDR, Cloud Security, and modern Zero Trust stacks. Deliver predictable, high-value revenue through disciplined prospecting and strategic targeting.
End-to-End Sales Leadership
Own the entire sales lifecycle from account targeting and qualification to crafting deal strategy, shaping business cases, negotiating terms, and final contract closure. Lead complex multi-stakeholder engagements, control the commercial narrative, and maintain precise forecast accuracy aligned with MEDDIC discipline.
Cybersecurity Solution Credibility
Serve as a subject-matter leader across core cybersecurity domains including incident detection and response, threat intelligence, cloud and network defence, SOC, SIEM/SOAR, and hybrid IT/OT security environments. Work closely with Solution Architects to construct robust, compliant, and scalable solutions tailored to each customers risk posture and regulatory obligations.
Value and Risk-Driven Selling
Translate technical security capabilities into commercial outcomes tied to risk reduction, regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and digital trust. Develop compelling ROI and business value propositions that justify cybersecurity investments at board level.
Executive Relationship Development
Establish deep, trust-based relationships with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, Heads of Infrastructure, and Procurement leaders. Act as a strategic advisor on threat landscapes, regulatory exposures, and security governance maturity. Operate with credibility in front of senior security and risk executives.
Partner & Ecosystem Leverage
Advance joint go-to-market motions with leading security vendors including Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, IBM and others. Leverage co-sell programs, platform incentives, and integrated technology stacks to accelerate wins and expand competitive differentiation.
Industry & Market Development
Drive business development within highly regulated and mission-critical sectors such as healthcare, critical infrastructure, smart cities, industrial manufacturing, and sovereign cloud environments. Represent the organisation at regional security forums, industry conferences, and roundtables to build market trust and expand brand presence.
Threat & Competitive Intelligence
Maintain an expert-level view on emerging cybersecurity threats, compliance mandates (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA), security vendor roadmaps, and competitor positioning. Use insights to refine proposals, sharpen value propositions, and influence portfolio evolution.
Sales Governance
Ensure rigorous CRM hygiene, opportunity tracking, and transparency across pipeline progression. Operate with precision under MEDDIC-based qualification and governance frameworks, ensuring consistency in execution and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
10-15 years of enterprise cybersecurity or IT services sales experience within Southeast Asia, ideally with deep exposure to managed security, cloud security, or telecom-security service models.
Proven track record of selling end-to-end cybersecurity services: Managed Security, Threat Detection & Response, SIEM/SOAR, Cloud Security, Network Security, and Zero Trust-driven architectures.
Demonstrated success owning the entire sales cycle and driving consistent pipeline creation, high conversion rates, and closure of complex cybersecurity deals.
Strong understanding of SOC operations, threat intel, cloud security frameworks, security for hybrid IT/OT environments, and the compliance landscape across the region.
Experience collaborating with top-tier security vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Microsoft Security, AWS, Cisco, Checkpoint, etc.) and leveraging co-sell and partner ecosystems.
Polished communicator with strong executive presence, commercial strength, and negotiation confidence.
Proficiency in modern enterprise sales methodologies MEDDIC experience is essential.
Professional security or cloud certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Security, AWS Security Specialty or equivalent preferred.
High-drive, target-focused, and resilient; capable of influencing across technical, commercial, and executive teams in complex environments.
