Planning Lead / Manager

The Planning Lead / Manager plays a critical role in orchestrating end-to-end master scheduling, inventory optimization, and sales and operations planning (S&OP) for high-complexity manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain, this role leads a dedicated team to align dynamic sales forecasts with material requirements planning (MRP) and shop-floor execution.

This position is ideal for an agile, data-driven planning professional accustomed to high-SKU environments, fluctuating supplier lead times, and rapid production adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Governance:
  • Facilitate and manage the full monthly S&OP cycle, including data consolidation, pre-S&OP reviews, and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Continuously refine planning frameworks and tools to reflect industry best practices and support expanding operational scale.
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP) & Stock Optimization:
  • Architect material plans and forecasting models to maintain optimal buffer inventory while mitigating excess stock risks.
  • Partner closely with Procurement to monitor vendor delivery schedules, proactively resolve component bottlenecks, and safeguard production timelines.
  • Establish precise material projection models to evaluate component availability against rolling demand forecasts.
• Production Scheduling & Execution:
  • Design, execute, and adapt master production schedules (MPS) to maximize throughput and guarantee on-time order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate daily with manufacturing leadership to adjust line allocations and capacity planning based on real-time material feeds and shift availability.
  • Monitor key operational metrics (schedule adherence, lead-time variance, line balance) to drive continuous throughput improvements.
• Cross-Functional Alignment & Performance Reporting:
  • Serve as the central communication point between Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Sales to maintain unified operational targets.
  • Generate high-visibility executive reports and dashboards covering schedule execution, inventory health, and operational risk mitigation.

Position & Operational Context

• Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Head of Supply Chain
• Direct Reports: Manages a team of 2–3 Executives
• Work Location: Factory-based (Vietnam)
• Working Schedule: Monday to Saturday | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Industry Background: Open to candidates from any fast-paced discrete or assembly manufacturing background (e.g., Electronics, Industrial Machinery, High-Tech Hardware, or Consumer Durables).

Key Role Challenges

• High-SKU & Complex Bill of Materials (BOM): Oversees complex BOM structures across 300–400+ active SKUs, requiring precise component-level planning and tracking.
• Dynamic & High-Volatility Operating Environment: Manages planning agility in a fast-changing environment where schedules frequently adapt to sudden sales demand shifts, global lead-time variances, component supply disruptions, and labor capacity limits.

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related technical discipline.
• Professional Experience:
  • Proven track record in a Planning Lead within a modern manufacturing setup.
  • Deep practical knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel/planning tools.
• Core Competencies:
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end S&OP cycles and complex BOM structures.
  • Strong analytical acuity with a proven ability to solve sudden supply chain bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
• Soft Skills & Communication:
  • Strong leadership capability to guide and mentor junior planners.
  • Excellent cross-functional coordination skills with fluency in both Vietnamese and English to interface with executive leadership and cross-departmental teams.
