Senior Network Architect – VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) & NSX

A global technology organisation delivering complex infrastructure and transformation programs is seeking a Senior Network Architect to support the design and delivery of a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) program.

This opportunity will see you working across enterprise customer environments, leading the architecture, design, and transformation of modern software-defined networking solutions within VCF environments. You will partner with customer stakeholders, platform teams, security specialists, automation engineers, and delivery leaders to design scalable, secure, and operationally aligned network solutions.

The Role

As the Senior Network Architect, you will lead the architecture and design of VMware NSX and Advanced Networking Services (ANS) within a VMware Cloud Foundation environment.

You will assess existing network and security architectures, define future-state designs, support transformation initiatives, and provide technical leadership throughout the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design activities across VMware NSX and VCF environments.
• Develop target-state network architectures and transformation roadmaps.
• Produce high-level and detailed design documentation.
• Define overlay networking, routing, segmentation, gateway, and security architectures.
• Support brownfield migration and integration activities.
• Assess dependencies across networking, security, identity, and infrastructure domains.
• Facilitate customer workshops, technical reviews, and design governance sessions.
• Identify technical risks, constraints, and remediation strategies.
• Support operational readiness, knowledge transfer, and transition activities.
• Work closely with automation, cloud, security, and platform engineering teams.

Required Experience

• Extensive experience as a Network Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or Senior Network Consultant.
• Strong experience designing and implementing VMware NSX-T within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or migration programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated experience producing enterprise architecture and detailed design documentation.
• Ability to work effectively across infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams.

Highly Desirable

• VMware VCF Architect or Administrator certifications.
• Industry networking certifications such as Cisco or Palo Alto.
• Experience within large enterprise, managed services, or service provider environments.
• Exposure to modern cloud and software-defined networking technologies.
• Experience delivering customer-facing architecture engagements.
