Organisational Design Lead
Job Description:
Organisational Design Lead – Energy Network (T&D)
Contract Opportunity | Network Transformation | Immediate Start
We're partnering with a major energy network provider undergoing a large-scale transformation across its operating model, driven by regulatory pressure, grid modernisation, and the increasing complexity of distributed energy resources.
They're looking for an experienced Organisational Design Lead to shape how the network business operates across asset lifecycle, field operations, and corporate functions.
The Role
This role sits at the centre of a Target Operating Model (TOM) transformation, focused on aligning structure, capability, and governance across a highly regulated network environment.
You'll work closely with senior leaders across network operations, asset management, field services, and corporate functions to design a future-state organisation that is fit for a modern grid.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end TOM design across transmission and/or distribution functions
- Develop and embed RACI frameworks to clarify accountability across field operations, control rooms, asset teams, and support functions
- Define and structure a service catalogue, aligning services to operational and regulatory requirements
- Conduct capability assessments across key network domains (e.g. asset lifecycle, outage management, maintenance, planning, emergency response)
- Facilitate structured co-design workshops with operational, engineering, and executive stakeholders
- Ensure organisational design aligns with AER regulatory obligations, compliance frameworks, and safety-critical operating environments
- Support transition planning, including change impacts across field workforce and operational teams
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading organisational design / TOM programs within energy networks (transmission or distribution)
- Strong understanding of regulated network environments, including safety, compliance, and operational risk
- Experience across domains such as asset management, field services, outage management, or network planning
- Demonstrated capability building RACI models, service catalogues, and capability frameworks
- Advanced facilitation skills, with experience engaging field, operational, and executive stakeholders
- Ability to navigate complex, unionised and safety-critical environments
Why This Role
- Opportunity to shape the operating model of a critical national infrastructure provider
- Direct involvement in programs linked to grid modernisation and energy transition
- Work across both strategic design and operational implementation
- Competitive daily rate with strong likelihood of extension
