WINGS Ministries is a Christ-centered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Greater Houston area. Our mission is to offer hope and restoration to women transitioning from incarceration, addiction, homelessness, or human trafficking. Through life-skills training, job-readiness programs, and mentorship, we empower women to rebuild their lives with confidence and faith. Our team of trained volunteers delivers an 8-week curriculum in transitional housing facilities and correctional centers, aiming to break cycles of poverty and recidivism and foster lasting change in our community.
Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of WINGS Ministries' core programs. This role ensures high-quality, mission-aligned delivery of life-skills and job-readiness programming across various partner facilities. The Program Coordinator serves as the primary liaison among volunteers, facility staff, and organizational leadership. This position also plays a key role in supporting strategic growth, with the potential to evolve into a full-time Operations Director position.
Essential Responsibilities:
Program Management
- Plan, schedule, and oversee weekly class sessions at partner sites, including transitional homes, rehabilitation centers, and correctional facilities.
- Ensure delivery of curriculum materials and coordination of volunteer facilitators.
- Monitor program implementation for consistency and quality.
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteer facilitators and mentors.
- Maintain clear communication regarding program schedules, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers.
Participant Engagement
- Serve as a point of contact for participants and facility staff.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment for participant growth and success.
- Celebrate participant milestones, including class completions and graduations.
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Manage class calendars, facility access, supply preparation, and required documentation.
- Supervise the Virtual Classroom Coordinator and ensure alignment with program needs.
- Maintain communication with host sites regarding scheduling, concerns, and policy updates.
Data & Reporting
- Collect and maintain accurate data on attendance, outcomes, and participant progress.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Outreach & Communication
- Support relationships with partner organizations, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of program-related content for newsletters/social media in collaboration with staff.
- Coordinate and support special events such as graduations, volunteer trainings, and community outreach.
Program Development
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on program evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Assist with curriculum updates and translation needs, including Spanish-language materials.
- Participate in the planning and execution of program expansion initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement and distribution of charitable goods in line with approved budgets.
- Assist in scheduling and coordination of internal meetings and leadership development sessions.
- Support administrative tasks related to fundraising and donor engagement events.
- Other duties as specified by the CEO or dictated by our mission.
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to local program sites (evening availability required).
- Alignment with faith-based values and comfort working in a Christ-centered environment.
Preferences:
- Experience in program coordination, education/training, volunteer management, or nonprofit operations.
- Prior leadership experience, especially mentoring or managing teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Business, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent military/nonprofit experience).
- Passion for WINGS Ministries mission and sensitivity to the needs of women in reentry or recovery.
