  • Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the CNC Programmer is responsible for developing programs by writing code to produce machined parts on CNC lathes and mills. This role also involves setting up and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Requirements & Qualifications to Get Job
    • o Minimum of 3 years experience as a CNC Programmer using 2D/3D CAM/CAD software in a shop environment for multi-axis machining projects.
    • o Experience programming for and operating multi-axis CNC machines.
    • o Proficiency in basic math and the ability to convert metric to SAE measurements.
    • o Experience in creating and mounting fixtures.
    • o Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
    • o Working knowledge of precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
    • o Strong problem-solving and conceptual skills.
    • o Excellent communication skills to convey detailed instructions to machine operators and collaborate effectively with managers, leads, and engineers regarding designs and drawings.
    • o Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
    • o Experience in setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
    • o 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
    • o Able to communicate in English
    • o High school diploma / GED
    • o Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: eye & hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and flame retardant work clothes, etc.
    • o Able to lift up to 50 lbs. & work in varying environmental conditions (heat, dust, noise, vibration, humidity).
  • Preferences to Get Job
    • o HAAS control experience a plus.
    • Proficient using a PC (preferred)
  • What you do on Job
    • o Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, surface locations, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
    • o Develop CNC programs for mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and verifying part programs using CAD or programming software.
    • o Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data to determine accurate part dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
    • o Set up and operate CNC machines efficiently and accurately.
    • o Ensure specifications are met by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
    • o Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, as well as fixtures and gauges to verify work and conduct detailed inspections of machined parts.
    • o Read instrumentation and gauges to ensure dimensions meet specified tolerances.
    • o Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
    • o Assist other processes as directed by the supervisor.
