- Job Summary
The Electric Motor Winder is responsible for the rewinding, repair, and maintenance of electric motors, transformers, and other related electrical equipment. This position requires the ability to disassemble, inspect, rewind, and reassemble motors in accordance with industry standards while ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Requirements & Qualifications to Get Job
- Mechanical aptitude and/or knowledge of AC/DC motor repair and rewinding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to communicate in English
- High school diploma / GED
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: eye & hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and flame retardant work clothes, etc.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. & work in varying environmental conditions (heat, dust, noise, vibration, humidity).
- Preferences to Get Job
- Technical training or certification in electrical motor repair is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in electric motor winding or a related field preferred
- Spanish-speaker preferred
- What you do on Job
- Disassemble electric motors, generators, and transformers for inspection and repair.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and determine necessary repairs.
- Remove and replace defective coils, windings, and insulation materials.
- Rewind and reassemble motors while adhering to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Test completed units for proper functionality and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including testing and repairs.
- Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Operate hand tools, winding machines, and other specialized equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist other processes as directed by the supervisor.
