Position Overview
As an IOM technologist, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia and neurology providers, and surgical teams to provide intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) in real-time, helping to identify and mitigate risks during surgeries.
Our Technologists' Principles

- You are part of an elite team with the surgeon, the anesthesia provider, and the remote oversight physician.
- Effective surgical communication and documentation are essential.
- Always stay one step ahead of the game.
- Arrive promptly in the operating room, set up equipment and load tests, obtain all necessary documentation from the patient chart and the OR schedule, and establish communication with your oversight physician. You will safety-check and test your equipment and deploy cables and boxes neatly, discreetly, and safely.
- Provide top-notch and focused patient care.
- Place electrodes on patients according to established protocols, ensuring optimal signal quality and reliability.
- Monitor neurophysiological data during surgical procedures, including:
- Transcranial Motor Evoked Potentials (TcMEPs)
- Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEPs)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Electroencephalography (EEG)
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, remote oversight physicians, and surgical teams to provide real-time feedback on neurophysiological findings and surgical progress.
- Collaboratively develop, implement, and document appropriate interventions in response to changes in neurophysiological signals and/or patient status in real time.
- Maintain accurate documentation of monitoring parameters, interventions, and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., neuroscience, biomedical engineering, physiology) is preferred.
- Certification or eligibility for certification in intraoperative neuromonitoring (CNIM or equivalent) is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in intraoperative neuromonitoring field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and electrophysiology a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work environments.
Location
Compensation
- Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Sign-on bonus and Relocation assistance: up to $15,000 (with 2-year commitment)
- Candidates can balance Sign on and Relocation assistance, as necessary.
