About the job
As one of our Ambulatory EEG Technologists, you will:
- Travel to patients' homes to set up 72-hour EEG studies
- Provide an overview of the procedure and answer relevant study questions
- Ensure quality data collection that is vital to your patients' epilepsy management care plan
- Your work makes a big difference in someone's quality of life as they contest with a challenging condition
Your Responsibilities:
- Complies with HIPPA regulations with regard to patient confidentiality.
- Must be able to travel up to 95% and drive to multiple locations, including out of state as necessary.
- Professionally communicates with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follows the American Society of EEG Technology guidelines while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operates and manages equipment and takes detailed, accurate patient history on patients.
- Ideally, the candidate has printer/scanner in-home capabilities and access to high-speed internet.
- Familiar with EEG software and operational experience with Windows Office
Hiring Requirements:
- Must possess a valid drivers license, automobile, and proof of insurance. One year of experience in the field is preferred.
- Registration through ABRET is preferred. Must be currently CPR certified.
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to pull, push and carry up to 50lbs.
- Must have strong communication skills, timely responses to requests from management, and efficient, effective outside the box suggestions for improvements.
- Experience with multiple set-up systems ( Xltek, Nihon Kohden, etc Trackit) Preferred but not required.
Technologist responsibilities include:
- Driving to patient homes or physician offices to conduct EEG studies
- Conducting EEG hookups using 10/20 system
- Conducting EEG hookups at patients residence
- Taking an accurate and detailed patient history
- Clipping and scanning EEG studies
- Cleaning and sterilizing EEG equipment
- Remotely monitoring patients to verify quality of EEG
- Troubleshooting equipment or patient issues, as necessary
- Participating in on-call coverage
