Land Acquisition Manager
Pay: £55,000 p/a + quarterly commission and annual company bonuses.
Contract type: Permanent
Location: London (hybrid role with up to 2 days a week from the office)
About the Role:
You will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and acquiring land suitable for solar, wind, or other renewable energy projects. Your ability to build strong relationships with landowners, navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes, and execute timely land deals will be critical to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify potential project sites across the UK, focusing on areas with high renewable energy potential.
- Conduct due diligence on identified sites to assess feasibility and potential risks.
- Negotiate and execute land purchase agreements, leases, and easements with landowners.
- Manage the entire land acquisition process, from initial contact to closing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners.
- Communicate effectively with landowners to address concerns and questions.
- Resolve land acquisition issues and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable land use, planning, and environmental regulations in the UK.
- Work with legal counsel to review and negotiate complex legal documents.
- Obtain necessary consents and permissions from local planning authorities and other relevant bodies.
- Lead and mentor a team of land acquisition specialists.
- Assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor progress.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the economic feasibility of land acquisition deals.
- Negotiate favourable terms and conditions to optimize project returns.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of UK land law, planning regulations, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with GIS software and other land analysis tools.
- Familiarity with the renewable energy industry, particularly solar and wind.
