Sales Director Renewable Energy Projects

Pay : $230,000 p/a + quarterly commission and annual company bonuses.

Contract type: Permanent/ Indefinite

Location: San Francisco, CA

As a Sales Director you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our renewable energy business. You will be responsible for leading a high-performing sales team, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and building strong relationships with key clients and partners within the utility, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of experienced B2B sales professionals.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics.
  • Set and track sales targets and quotas.
  • Analyze sales performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Business Development:

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the utility, commercial, and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at utility companies, independent power producers (IPPs), and corporate clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.

Contract Negotiation:

  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to contract signing.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Proactively address client needs and concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales and business development, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of the solar and energy storage markets within the utility, commercial, and industrial sectors.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
