Job Title: Senior IT Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server OS Management:

    • Administer and manage Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
    • Perform regular patching using SCCM/Adaptiva and remediate failed updates.
  • Service Desk Operations:

    • Administer ServiceNow (SNOW) for daily incident updates.
    • Accept, assign, and manage incidents, tasks, and changes.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Utilize UIM Monitoring Tool (Grafana) for server metrics and utilization.
    • Use Azure Log Analytics and PowerBI for generating reports.
  • Virtualization:

    • Administer and optimize VMWare environments.
    • Manage OVM environments.
  • Physical Server Access:

    • Access and manage Dell (iDRAC) and HP (iLO) servers.
  • Documentation:

    • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation on Confluence.
  • PowerShell Scripting:

    • Run scripts and one-liner commands for various administrative tasks.
  • Troubleshooting:

    • Resolve issues related to offline servers, failing patches, resource over-utilization, DHCP, DNS, blocked ports, and server/directory access.
  • Vulnerability Remediation:

    • Address VMWare tools and security risks (e.g., Sweet32) as requested by the business.
  • Standby Duties:

    • Participate in a standby rotation (usually one week per month).
  • Collaboration:

    • Manage tasks on Jira and log support tickets with Microsoft.
    • Collaborate with other teams (Virtualization, Backup/Storage, AD, CSO, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Experience with SCCM/Adaptiva for patch management.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow (SNOW) administration.
  • Familiarity with UIM Monitoring Tool (Grafana), Azure Log Analytics, and PowerBI.
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare and OVM environments.
  • Knowledge of Dell (iDRAC) and HP (iLO) server management.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with various departments.
  • Willingness to participate in standby duties.
