Company description

Netbank is a start-up fintech-focused bank, focused on the under-served. Its model is to:

  • Partner with Fintechs, banks, and non-bank lenders, who have existing client networks
  • Allow these partners to sign-up clients, for an origination fee, booked on Netbanks balance sheet. Netbank would provide:
  • Loans to clients, so the partners can grow without raising additional capital
  • Deposit accounts for clients, serviced by the partner (on a white-label basis)
  • Technology services to the partners, allowing them more efficient processing and better client satisfaction
  • Provide payment services to domestic and international partners
  • Provide complete banking solutions for Neobanks to launch, using our system.

Netbank will initially operate in the Philippines, but the business model is applicable across multiple geographies. Netbank launched in Q1 2020 and raised external funding in Q1 2023.

Netbank is a Principal member of Mastercard and will implement its first programs by Jan 2023. It is building a complete team able to implement card operations.

Responsibilities

BIN Sponsorship Management:

  • Coordinate and manage the completion of BIN Sponsorship for debit and pre-paid cards.
  • Liaise with card networks and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and alignment with all related rules.

Financial Oversight:

  • Oversee the financial aspects of card operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage projects related to card operations, especially those pertaining to BIN Sponsorship.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and to the required quality standards.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure full compliance with all local and international regulations regarding BIN Sponsorship and card operations.
  • Participate in regulatory audits and implement corrective actions when needed.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess financial and operational risks in card operations, including those related to BIN Sponsorship.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Risk Management, Legal, IT, and others, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders.

Vendor Management:

  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and partners involved in BIN Sponsorship and card operations.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage performance.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and develop the card operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in card operations, with specific expertise in issuer operations.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management abilities
  • Excellent understanding of financial operations oversight
  • Deep knowledge of debit and pre-paid card regulations
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

Metrics to Monitor:

  • Chargeback Volume: Number of chargebacks received and processed.
  • Chargeback Win Rate: Percentage of successfully defended chargebacks.
  • Dispute Resolution Time: Average time taken to resolve a chargeback or dispute.
