Location: Hybrid (3 days remote), Toronto, Canada
Experience: 3+ Years
Rate: $45 to $50 CAD PH
Role Summary: NearSource is seeking a UX/UI Developer to drive intuitive and scalable user experiences for advanced CAD research platforms. This role focuses on Human-Computer Interaction design within complex engineering and AI-powered workflows. The selected candidate will shape foundational interface components that support next-generation design and simulation capabilities for a Fortune 500 product company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UX strategy and interaction design for advanced CAD research platforms.
- Develop and implement interactive decomposition canvas components using modern frontend frameworks to support complex mechanical assemblies.
- Architect Human Computer Interaction flows that support seamless exploration of engineering systems.
- Design requirement captures interfaces that guide users through structured input workflows.
- Define UX patterns for user authentication and project persistence environments.
- Create structured data editing interfaces aligned with enterprise usability standards.
- Design visualization controls for simulation outputs and kinematic movement in 3D CAD environments.
- Collaborate closely with research scientists and engineering teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear user experiences.
- Drive iterative UX improvements through feedback loops, usability insights, and research validation.
Must-Have Skills
- 3+ Years of professional UX/UI design experience within web applications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complex workflow and interaction design.
- Ability to convert complex technical requirements into intuitive UI designs.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-grade web interfaces using React and Next.js.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with 3D web visualization libraries such as Three.js.
- Strong understanding of Human Computer Interaction principles.
- Experience designing responsive and adaptive user interfaces.
- Bachelor of Computer Science or similar technical discipline.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience designing UI for CAD systems or engineering workflows.
- Exposure to data visualization or graph-based UI frameworks.
- Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilotkit.
- Python knowledge, especially in AI or LLM-driven environments using LangGraph.
