Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer – Platform Prototyping & Innovation

Location: 100% Remote, Canada
Experience Level: 3+ Years
Rate: $45 to $50 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to contribute to platform prototyping and innovation initiatives for a Fortune 500 product company. This role focuses on building proof of concepts, internal tools, and experimental solutions that inform strategic platform decisions and future product direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop client-facing applications and backend services using TypeScript, Java, or Python
  • Build prototypes, proof of concepts, and internal tools to support strategic platform initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering stakeholders to gather requirements and translate ideas into working solutions
  • Develop utilities that support planning, development, and operational workflows
  • Apply modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity and productivity
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to inform architectural and technical decisions

Must-Have Skills

  • 2 to 3 years of professional full-stack development experience
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Java, or Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience building web applications, RESTful services, and APIs
  • Strong understanding of frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong systems thinking mindset with the ability to understand complex platforms efficiently
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within distributed teams
  • Clear communication skills with a proactive and feedback-driven approach

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Cursor
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
