Role Summary
Our client is seeking a strong Accountant / Fund Accountant to support accounting and fund administration activities for investment-related entities.
The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience and strong technical fundamentals. Experience in fund administration, family office, investment accounting, or financial services is preferred, but not required. A strong Accountant or CPA with the ability to quickly learn fund administration processes will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records for funds and related entities.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Assist with NAV calculations, including reconciliation of cash, investments, expenses, and accruals.
- Process and reconcile capital calls, distributions, contributions, and other investment-related transactions.
- Prepare and review investor statements, LP statements, allocations, and related reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, intercompany balances, and other financial accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting, fund, and investor data.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and periodic financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and supporting schedules for accounting and reporting purposes.
- Work with internal teams, fund administrators, investors, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and ensure timely deliverables.
- Support multiple entities, funds, or structures as required.
- Learn and apply fund administration procedures, systems, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a professional environment.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and processes.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Account reconciliations, Journal entries, Accruals and prepayments, Month-end close, Financial reporting, General ledger accounting
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of financial data.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with international/U.S.-based stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Fund Administration / Investment Experience – Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Fund accounting, Fund administration, Family office accounting, Private equity, Hedge funds, Venture capital, Asset or investment management, Investment accounting, Investor accounting or reporting, NAV preparation or review, Capital calls and distributions, LP statements and investor allocations
Direct fund accounting experience is not mandatory. Strong Accountants and CPAs with excellent accounting fundamentals and the ability to learn fund administration are encouraged to apply.
