Position Overview: The core of the role is focused on outbound sales activities: building new customer leads by identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential ICP Fit targets. They help build a robust sales pipeline (SQLs) by leveraging real estate-specific prospecting tools for list building (Costar, Thesis Driven Developer Database, industry pubs, etc.) and pass qualified leads to leadership for deeper engagement. The BDR is comfortable and familiar with email sales motions (leveraging templates, follow-up procedures, etc.), engagement on LinkedIn, and scheduling appointments with potential customers to assess fit for our strategic offering.
Please note that this is a fully remote role, with a salary range of $2,000 - $3,000 USD/month.
Accountabilities
The primary functions by which success in this position will be measured. You will own the results of these accountabilities, even if someone else is responsible for some of the tasks needed to accomplish the goal. Accountabilities cannot be delegated.
- Active Outbound Prospecting - Active lead generation targeted at specific regions of focus (e.g. Boston metro, Minneapolis metro, etc.) during a given time period. Then, engagement with identified prospects using sales outreach and light sales automation.
- Generate New Pipeline - Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly top-of-funnel sales pipeline generation, oversight, and management for each assignment targeted market.
- CRM Management & Reporting - CRM Weekly sales reporting: consistently updating sales pipeline and translating results into actionable next steps.
- Customer Insights - Top-of-funnel feedback gathering for leadership, helping to identify areas of opportunity and points of friction in the early sales process.
Primary Scorecard Measurables & Metrics
Benchmarks consistently achieved (subject to change):
- 3-5 new markets researched per quarter
- 80 new leads per month (Account Identified > Researched > Outreached)
- 12 new sales opportunities handed off per month (Discovery Call)
- 100 accounts touched per month (passive nurturing) Authentic Form & Function
Processes Owned
- Workflows and general organization, building documentation for all initial sales initiatives.
- Consistent pipeline management within Hubspot to ensure clear status for all accounts:
- contact identification, the discovery playbook, note-taking, etc.
- Monthly reporting for all sales development and new SQLs created.
- Weekly growth marketing calls for reporting.
- Monthly and quarterly sales performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day and week-to-week tasks that you have an obligation to get done to achieve company objectives. Responsibilities can be delegated if needed, but you remain accountable to ensure successful completion.
- Ongoing prospect development and nurturing for targeted regions, including but not limited to initial list building, outreach, email communication, LinkedIn DMs, and appointment setting.
- Hubspot CRM proficiency for optimal sales pipeline management, tracking and monitoring the progress of leads through the funnel before leads are converted to SQL status.
- Create and modify written sales automation within Hubspot that can be used team-wide but is critical to the success of the BDR role.
- Maintain elite communication and prospecting skills, clearly articulating our value propositions to prospects and convincingly selling the benefits of working with our team.
- Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities, even if a sale is not immediately available.
- Offer insights on sales trends and opportunities that reveal themselves based on prospect feedback (positive and negative).
- Provide feedback to the leadership team on opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and desired outcomes.
