Our client, a well-established company in the home repair and improvement industry, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Estimating and Sales Manager to join their team. This role plays a key part in driving business success by converting leads into approved estimates and maintaining a high rate of job closures.
Role Overview
As an Estimating and Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire estimation and job approval process, from handling incoming leads to scheduling jobs and coordinating with technicians. This role ensures that technicians schedules are consistently filled with approved work, optimizing resource allocation and improving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and motivated to achieve a high rate of job closures, typically within the 50-70 percent range.
Please note that the base compensation is $1k USD/month plus a very aggressive commission structure, with average total compensation of 2-3k USD/month.
Responsibilities
Lead Management and Conversion
- Engage promptly and professionally with incoming leads from phone calls, emails, and other sources
- Understand customer needs and project requirements to create accurate and competitive estimates
Estimate Preparation and Approval
- Develop and present detailed job estimates, ensuring they meet company standards and customer expectations
- Collaborate with customers to review and secure approval for estimates
Scheduling and Job Coordination
- Manage technicians schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and minimal downtime
- Monitor job progress and make real-time adjustments to schedules to meet customer timelines
Performance Metrics
- Maintain a consistent job closure rate of 50-70 percent
- Track and report on conversion rates, customer feedback, and scheduling efficiency
Customer Interaction and Relationship Building
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the estimation and approval process
- Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly to build trust and satisfaction
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with technicians and other team members to ensure seamless execution of approved jobs
- Provide insights and feedback to improve overall processes and performance
Profile Requirements
Language
- Fluency in American English with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
- Prior experience in sales, estimating, or construction/project management preferred
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding performance targets
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in estimation tools and software
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly

Compensation and Commission Structure
- Base Pay: USD 1,000/month
- Performance-Based Incentives: 5 percent commission on gross margins (collections from sales minus materials and labor costs)
- An average Estimating and Sales Manager closes USD 5,000 worth of work per day, with gross margins typically at 50 percent
- Average Earnings: USD 5,000 x 50 percent margins x 5 percent commission x 21 working days = approximately USD 2,625 per month
- Top Performers closing USD 15,000 per day can earn significantly more, with no cap on earnings
- Employees will earn their minimum base salary or their commissions, whichever is greater
