Our client is seeking a skilled Cross Dock Supervisor with experience in warehouse supervision, cross-dock operations, and logistics to join their growing team. You will play a key role in managing inbound and outbound freight transactions, coordinating with third-party logistics personnel, and resolving operational issues on the warehouse floor. Your work will directly impact freight accuracy, shipment timeliness, and overall cross-dock performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute receiving and shipping transactions accurately within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Verify physical freight against packing lists, bills of lading, manifests, and other shipment documentation.
- Coordinate daily workflows and compliance requirements with third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse personnel.
- Manage outbound shipment coordination according to customer carrier schedules and freight requirements.
- Serve as the first point of contact for discrepancies, damaged freight, and system-related issues, using customer portals as required.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, digital records, shipment photos, and documentation for non-compliant or exception shipments.
- Monitor cross-dock lanes, trailer loading and unloading activity, and key performance indicators to support timely and efficient operations.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse supervision, cross-dock operations, logistics, or a closely related environment.
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems; experience with Körber WMS is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and the ability to work comfortably with customer and logistics portals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with customers, vendors, carriers, and 3PL partners.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve shipping discrepancies and operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing freight, shipment documentation, and inventory records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising cross-dock or high-volume freight operations.
- Familiarity with Körber WMS.
- Experience tracking and reporting warehouse or logistics KPIs.
- Experience working directly with external carriers, customers, and third-party warehouse teams.
- Strong organizational and documentation-management skills.
