Job Title: Senior FP&A / Planning Systems Developer (Abacum, Anaplan, Pigment)
Location: Remote – Preference for Eastern U.S. Time Zones
Role Type: Full-time | Remote
Compensation: $50k - $70k + bonus (depending on experience level)
Language Requirements: Fluent English (Written and Verbal)
We are looking for a motivated senior analyst to join our client`s planning systems team and develop expertise across Abacum, Anaplan, and Pigment. No prior technology skills required – we will train you from the ground up. What matters most is a solid foundation in finance and accounting, strong logic, and a desire to build a career in financial transformation. You will work directly with senior architects to design models, automate reporting, and help companies run their financial planning processes more intelligently.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting models within Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platforms.
- Translate accounting, FP&A, and business requirements into scalable financial models and structured planning logic.
- Support month-end close processes, forecasting cycles, and ongoing financial planning activities within tools such as Abacum, Anaplan, and Pigment.
- Gather business requirements from finance stakeholders and collaborate to design effective planning solutions.
- Document model structures, assumptions, business rules, and data flows to ensure maintainability and transparency.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), end-user training, and deployment of financial planning solutions.
- Integrate ERP and accounting system data into EPM platforms to support automated reporting and planning processes.
- Develop and enhance dashboards for P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, budgeting, and financial performance analysis.
- Troubleshoot model, data, and process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Collaborate with senior consultants, architects, and clients to support finance transformation initiatives across multiple industries.
Must - Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or an MBA.
- Strong understanding of financial statements including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Knowledge of core accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with finance and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technologies and financial planning platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting and client-facing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) through internships, academic projects, or professional experience.
- Experience with Excel-based financial modeling and data analysis.
- Interest in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), SaaS platforms, and financial technology solutions.
- Exposure to ERP systems, accounting software, or business process automation tools.
- Basic knowledge of coding, scripting, databases, or systems integration concepts.
- Experience supporting financial transformation, reporting, or planning initiatives.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Abacum, Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive Planning, or similar planning solutions.
