Job Title: Account Manager – US Freight Brokerage
Location: Remote – Latin America Preferred
Type of Contract: Full-Time | Remote
Salary Range: $2,500–$3,500 USD/month + approximately $500 bonus

Our client is seeking a skilled Account Manager with 5+ years of US domestic freight brokerage experience to manage customer accounts, daily transportation operations, and carrier relationships. You will play a key role in growing a portfolio of accounts, protecting margins, and ensuring reliable service across the US freight network. Your work will directly impact customer retention, account profitability, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of customer accounts as the primary point of contact, managing relationships, expectations, and day-to-day transportation needs.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying new lanes, increased shipment volume, and opportunities to expand services.
  • Lead recurring customer account reviews covering service performance, pricing, upcoming needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Direct daily brokerage operations, including carrier booking, load coverage, tracking, exception management, and customer communication.
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships across assigned lanes while negotiating competitive rates that protect account margins.
  • Maintain accurate TMS records, including load entries, statuses, documentation, carrier invoices, and proof of delivery (POD).
  • Own account-level KPIs, including on-time pickup/delivery, tender acceptance, margin per load, claims ratio, and invoice accuracy, while proactively addressing risks and escalations.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in US domestic logistics, freight brokerage, freight forwarding, or managed transportation, with direct customer/account ownership.
  • Proven US domestic spot-market brokerage experience.
  • Strong experience managing carrier relationships and negotiating freight rates.
  • Hands-on experience with TMS platforms and strong attention to operational and data accuracy.
  • Experience using industry platforms such as DAT and Truckstop.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; the role requires frequent communication with US customers and carriers by phone and email.
  • Ability to work Pacific Time hours with reliable internet and a quiet, professional remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing a book of accounts with direct responsibility for revenue and profitability.
  • Demonstrated success growing existing customer accounts and expanding shipment volume.
  • Experience monitoring and reporting transportation KPIs and developing corrective action plans.
  • Experience working within a lean, fast-growing startup environment.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to take on additional operational responsibility as the brokerage division scales.
