Body Shop Technician
About the job Body Shop Technician
Our client currently has a full-time position available for a Body Shop Technician at their Hartland location.
This is an excellent opportunity for a team player with a contagious can-do attitude in the workplace. Reporting to the Body Shop Manager, this position involves performing skilled and complex bodywork on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimum supervision. This role has excellent opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities and requirements:
- Responsible for repairing all assigned vehicles according to estimates and within timeframes
- Complete repair order documentation and record keeping
- Use and maintain tools and equipment properly
- Keep the Body Shop Manager informed of the progress of the repairs and, communicate with the parts department to obtain the required parts as needed
- Keep personal workspace organized and returns tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas
- Work in a high-volume environment and follow all company safety procedures
- Work as a team, both individually and with other mechanics.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in a Heavy Duty Truck Body Shop environment required
- Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles
- Applicant must be extremely quality minded with a strong work ethic
- Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Paint shop experience preferred
- Aluminum and/or stainless steel welding is an asset
Schedule:
- 9-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Possible overtime
