Project Overview

The position supports the establishment and implementation of an Automation Competence Center within a digital transformation department. The expert will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams and service delivery units to define automation strategy, governance, and integration frameworks for enterprise-wide automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and define roles, responsibilities, and objectives for the Automation Competence Center.
  • Design collaboration models with service-providing units (e.g., automation service packages, delivery frameworks).
  • Define the positioning and value proposition of automation within the organization, including product benefits and cost structures.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and commissioning of automation solutions across departments.
  • Ensure alignment of automation initiatives with organizational strategy, standards, and digitalization goals.
  • Lead or coordinate automation-related projects, ensuring technical quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define best practices, integration methods, and operating models for automation systems.
  • Oversee change and release management processes related to automation tools and platforms.
  • Support organizational learning by establishing documentation standards, process guidelines, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Business Information Systems, Economics, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification.
  • Languages: Proficiency in German (C1) and English according to CEFR standards.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proven experience with common automation platforms such as Ansible, UiPath, or PEGA.
    • Strong understanding of agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or equivalent certifications (e.g., IPMA Level D, PRINCE2, Professional Scrum Master/Product Owner).
    • Solid experience in change and release management of automation systems.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration involving engineering, IT, production, and maintenance teams.
  • Proven record of at least 10 years in multidisciplinary IT or engineering environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing or coordinating automation-related projects.
