IT Automation & Orchestration Consultant

Position: IT Automation & Orchestration Consultant

Location: Germany

Type: Full-time/Hybrid (50% remote work)

Tasks:

• Design, develop, and implement automation workflows and services using OpenText Operations Orchestration (OO), from concept through production deployment.
• Develop integrations with enterprise tools using REST, SOAP, Remote PowerShell, Python, and SSH protocols.
• Create and maintain automation scripts in JavaScript, PowerShell, and Python.
• Design and implement Microsoft SQL Server database schemas, including complex multi-table queries and stored procedures.
• Independently analyze existing IT processes, identify optimization opportunities, and prototype improvements through code development.
• Participate in architectural decisions regarding the automation platform and its integrations with third-party systems.
• Create and maintain technical process documentation and automation concepts in German, including:
• BPMN diagrams
• Technical workflow specifications
• Support work package planning and sub-project coordination with the client's internal team.
• Act as a self-sufficient consultant: tasks will be provided with sufficient detail, and you will independently implement and deliver results.

Requirements:

• German language proficiency at C1 level and English at B1 level.
• 5+ years of experience with OpenText Operations Orchestration (OO), including flow design, scripting, content packs, and architecture.
• 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server, including schema design, complex queries, and stored procedures.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven expertise in automation frameworks, orchestration concepts, and cross-system integrations.
• Experience creating BPMN diagrams, workflow documentation, and automation concepts.
• Project coordination and sub-project delivery experience.
• Practical experience with at least 8 enterprise technologies, such as Jira, Confluence, Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, OpenShift, VMware, Terraform, SailPoint, Nutanix, NetApp, Rubrik, Infoblox, SonarQube, GitLab, or OpenText Service Manager.
• Eligibility for SÜG 1 security clearance.
• Residence in Germany or an approved EU/Swiss location.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with client teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting German banks, public sector organizations, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with the former Micro Focus Operations Orchestration platform.
• Experience with .NET and/or Vue.js.
• DevSecOps experience.
• OpenText ITOM, ITSM, or OO certifications.
• Experience designing and prototyping complex enterprise automation solutions across multiple systems.
