Expert Business Integration – Configuration Management Administrator

Position Overview

The role focuses on configuration management, IT service management, and technical project coordination within a large-scale digital transformation and enterprise IT environment. The position supports the planning, implementation, optimization, and administration of configuration management processes and related operational frameworks.

The role includes responsibility for maintaining configuration management databases, supporting ITIL-based service management processes, coordinating migration and technical projects, and improving operational workflows and documentation structures.

Key Responsibilities

Configuration Management & IT Service Operations

• Set up and maintain configuration management databases to support IT service management processes
• Manage product libraries, configuration structures, and system access permissions
• Initialize, maintain, and administer product configurations and related operational data
• Support continuous improvement and optimization of configuration management systems, processes, and documentation
• Analyze IT monitoring data and process performance metrics
• Define and maintain KPIs and reporting structures related to service operations and configuration management

Project & Technical Coordination

• Independently manage technical tasks and support internal projects in critical operational areas
• Support migration and technical transformation projects, including database-related activities
• Develop and maintain technical and operational concepts related to configuration management
• Coordinate operational tasks, stakeholders, and project-related activities
• Support technical documentation, reporting, and process standardization activities
• Contribute to planning and implementation activities within structured IT environments

Communication & Enablement

• Prepare and present technical information for different stakeholder groups
• Conduct user enablement and support knowledge transfer activities
• Deliver technical presentations and communicate complex topics in a structured and understandable manner
• Support coordination between operational teams, technical specialists, and project stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field; alternatively equivalent professional IT experience
• Several years of experience in configuration management and IT service management environments
• Practical experience with ITIL-based service management processes
• Experience with database modeling and related technologies such as SQL
• Experience in migration projects and technical project management
• Experience in creating technical concepts and operational documentation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with reporting, KPI management, and process optimization
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Very good German language skills and good English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management certification
• Experience in enterprise configuration management environments
• Experience with database migration and transformation projects
• Experience delivering technical workshops, presentations, and user enablement activities
• Knowledge of operational governance and structured enterprise IT processes
• Experience working in security-sensitive or compliance-driven environments
