Project / Department Overview
The Project Management Center of Excellence provides project management expertise, methodologies, and best practices to various organizational units. The Infrastructure Service Projects department is responsible for delivering and steering programs and projects within decentralized and centralized IT infrastructure environments, both for external customers and internal operations.
Role & Responsibilities
The Associate Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and controlling IT infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting project planning, coordination, and communication
- Maintaining project plans and relevant status information
- Reviewing and visualizing timelines, dependencies, and milestones
- Structuring work packages, activities, and action plans
- Analyzing and preparing key performance indicators to assess project progress
- Identifying and presenting the critical path
- Conducting plan-versus-actual comparisons
- Supporting stakeholder, quality, and risk management activities
- Preparing meeting minutes, summaries, and decision templates
- Managing and tracking action item and open issue lists
- Organizing and maintaining structured project documentation
- Planning, preparing, and moderating meetings, lessons learned sessions, and retrospectives
Qualification Requirements
Language
- German language proficiency at C1 level (CEFR)
Education
- Completed university degree (Bachelors or equivalent) with an IT focus
or - Comparable vocational qualification with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Experience with SharePoint and Jira
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies
- Certification such as IPMA Level D, PRINCE2 Foundation, or equivalent
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in:
- Project management or PMO environments within the IT sector
- Application of common project management methodologies
- Experience in agile project management environments (e.g., PSM / PSPO desirable)
Professional experience must reflect continuous, hands-on involvement in the respective subject area with repeated and substantial contributions.

- Detailed description of responsibilities and activities
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
