Project – Data Engineer Finance Lucerne

Capacity utilisation: 80% – 100%
Start: 16 February 2026
End: 31 December 2026, with option to extend
Location: Lucerne, on site 4 days per week, remote 1 day per week
Customer segment: Finance
Candidate's place of residence: The candidate already lives in Switzerland or has an address in Switzerland where they can live for the duration of the project.
Applications from outside Switzerland: The candidate must have an EU passport, Schengen state, can also be a dual nationality (nationality outside the Schengen area with a work permit for Germany, Austria, etc. is not possible).

Tasks:

• Translate data into business-ready insights by designing and delivering data marts, semantic models and Power BI reports that make data accessible, actionable, and trustworthy
• Building domain-oriented data marts in Snowflake using dbt
• Designing Power BI semantic models (datasets, DAX measures, hierarchies)
• Developing clear, insightful Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with KPIs
• Optimizing query and visualization performance
• Automating BI and dbt deployments via Azure DevOps
• Implementing security, RLS, and governance in BI solutions
• Understanding business-critical reports, SLAs, and ITIL-aligned support processes
• Collaborating with both data platform teams and business stakeholders/analysts
  

Requirements:

• Higher education (ETH/university/university of applied sciences) in computer science/economics or comparable education
• Several years of experience as a data engineer in the finance sector
• In-depth knowledge and experience with domain-oriented data marts in Snowflake/dbt, Power BI semantic models, and Azure DevOps
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to work and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork
• Fluent English (C1) and German (C1) skills
