AOCS Engineer (Flight-Proven Algorithms & Design)

Position: AOCS Engineer

Type: Full-time/Remote

We are looking for an AOCS Engineer with flight-proven experience in the design, implementation, and verification of AOCS algorithms for space missions. The role focuses on developing high-performance attitude and pointing control, especially for missions requiring precision optical communication and fine pointing stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize AOCS algorithms for estimation, guidance, and control.
• Design AOCS architecture, operational modes, and sensor/actuator configurations.
• Perform modelling, simulation, and analysis, including Monte-Carlo, worst-case, and sensitivity studies.
• Conduct AOCS verification through SIL/PIL, HIL setups, and ECSS-compliant processes.
• Support AIT, pre-launch readiness activities, and in-orbit AOCS commissioning.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Flight-proven AOCS experience on operational space missions.
• Hands-on experience developing software for AOCS of satellites.
• Must have worked on at least two missions.
• Strong background in control theory, spacecraft dynamics, and estimation (EKF/MEKF).
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent modelling and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with ECSS AOCS design and verification standards.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Experience level: 10+ years, 3-5 years are also welcome

Preferred Experience

• Optical communication terminals, PAT systems, fine-steering mirrors, or high-accuracy pointing systems.
• Knowledge of reaction wheels, magnetorquers, GNSS, star trackers, and propulsion-based AOCS.
• Mission experience involving high pointing accuracy.
