1. Project and Role Overview
The Project Management Center of Excellence provides project management expertise, methodologies, and best practices across multiple organizational units. Its objective is to support the planning, coordination, and successful execution of projects within complex IT environments.
The Infrastructure Service Projects division is responsible for managing and delivering programs and projects related to decentralized and centralized IT infrastructure environments. These projects involve planning, coordination, and operational implementation of IT services and infrastructure solutions in collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.
The Associate Project Manager supports the project management team in the planning, monitoring, and execution of IT projects, ensuring transparency, structured communication, and proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Responsibilities and Tasks
The Associate Project Manager will support the project leadership in various aspects of project planning, monitoring, and coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the project manager in project planning, communication, progress monitoring, and overall project coordination
- Maintaining and updating project plans and relevant project status information
- Monitoring timelines, dependencies, and milestones within project schedules
- Planning and coordinating work packages, project activities, and implementation measures
- Analyzing and preparing project metrics to evaluate project progress and identify the critical path
- Performing plan-versus-actual comparisons to monitor project performance
- Supporting stakeholder, quality, and risk management processes
- Preparing meeting minutes, project documentation, and decision-making materials
- Managing and tracking activity lists and open issue logs
- Organizing and maintaining project documentation and data repositories
- Planning, preparing, and facilitating project meetings, retrospectives, and lessons learned sessions
Where certification requirements are specified, certificates must be valid at the time of submission. Equivalent qualifications may be accepted if they demonstrably meet the required standards.
Language proficiency requirements follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
If project references are requested, they must include:
- Industry sector
- Project title
- Brief project description
- Duration of the assignment
- Detailed description of responsibilities and tasks performed within the project
3. Qualifications, Skills, and Certifications
Education
- Completed university degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Computer Science, or a comparable field
or - Completed professional vocational training with at least five years of relevant professional experience in a comparable role
Language Skills
- German language proficiency at C1 level according to CEFR
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including:
- Outlook
- Visio
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- MS Project
- Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as:
- SharePoint
- JIRA
Project Management Certifications
One of the following certifications or an equivalent qualification:
- IPMA Level D
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- Equivalent certification in project management (e.g., recognized project management training or academic coursework related to project management)
4. Professional Experience Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate:
- At least 4 years of professional experience in project management or within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment in the IT sector
- Practical experience applying established project management methodologies
- Experience supporting or coordinating projects within agile environments, including frameworks such as:
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)
Professional experience must represent continuous and substantial involvement in relevant activities prior to submission.
