Senior System Engineer – Citrix ADC & Infrastructure Operations

Position Overview

The role focuses on the operation, stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement of enterprise Citrix infrastructure services within a highly secure and large-scale IT environment. The position is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of access and load-balancing infrastructures while supporting high-availability and performance-critical systems.

The role includes administration, troubleshooting, automation, monitoring, and technical coordination activities related to enterprise application delivery and secure remote access platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations & Administration

• Support operational stabilization and optimization of enterprise application delivery infrastructure
• Plan, administer, configure, and troubleshoot application delivery and load-balancing platforms
• Manage gateway, authentication, SSL/TLS, load-balancing, and high-availability configurations
• Perform monitoring, performance analysis, and operational troubleshooting
• Support second- and third-level incident analysis and resolution activities
• Contribute to change, release, and configuration management processes

Automation & System Optimization

• Develop and improve automation processes and operational workflows
• Support infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or scripting solutions
• Contribute to optimization of operational performance, redundancy, and scalability concepts
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure operations and technical processes

Technical Coordination & Support

• Collaborate closely with service management, architecture, network, and security teams
• Support technical implementation and operational rollout activities
• Participate in operational and infrastructure-related subprojects
• Maintain and enhance technical documentation and knowledge databases
• Support operational activities within data center environments and participate in on-call support rotations

Incident & Ticket Management

• Analyze and resolve escalated incidents from first-level support environments
• Perform detailed diagnostics and remote troubleshooting activities
• Document incidents, solutions, and operational procedures in ticketing and knowledge management systems
• Support structured operational governance and reporting activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; alternatively completed vocational IT training combined with relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience operating enterprise application delivery and load-balancing environments
• Strong experience with second- and third-level support operations
• Experience planning and implementing complex operational changes and infrastructure improvements
• Experience with performance optimization, high-availability, and redundancy concepts
• Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, or scripting solutions
• Experience working in security-sensitive or regulated IT environments
• Practical knowledge of ITIL-based service management processes
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Very good German language skills and good English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management certification
• Experience with enterprise gateway, authentication, and load-balancing platforms
• Experience in enterprise data center operations
• Experience with monitoring and operational reporting tools
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management processes
• Experience working in structured and compliance-driven enterprise environments
