System Test Engineer (m/f/d)

Position: System Test Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Gilching, Heimertingen

Field: Defence

Type: Full-time

Tasks:

• Setting up, maintaining, further developing, and documenting complex test environments
• Conceptualizing and designing system and acceptance tests based on functional, technical, or operational requirements
• Conducting field, system, and acceptance tests
• Documenting and structuring test results
• Analysis of network protocols and troubleshooting in complex
  IP network structures
• Close collaboration with the Integration & Validation Team as well as the development departments
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, a comparable STEM field, or equivalent technical vocational training (e.g., IT specialist)
• Relevant professional experience—preferably several years—in software testing, as well as an in-depth understanding of verification and validation activities
• Demonstrable experience operating complex IP network structures (IPv4/v6, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS)
• Solid knowledge of routing and switching, as well as the OSPF and BGP protocols
• Experience with tunneling technologies (L2TP, GRE, VPN) and voice communication (SIP, RTP)
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira X-Ray, IBM Doors, Wireshark, and Oracle VM
• Knowledge of wired (Ethernet, EtherCAT) and wireless communication (VHF, UHF, LTE, SatCom) is a plus
• Experience with C/C++, C#, or Java is desirable
• Ideally, ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certification
• Structured, analytical approach to work, as well as the ability to work in a team and a spirit of innovation
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
