Role Overview
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for providing advanced 2nd Level support for secure VPN solutions within a high-security IT environment. The role focuses on incident handling, troubleshooting, system administration, and ensuring the stability and reliability of IT communication services.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently handle incoming incidents via phone and remote access in a 2nd Level Support environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to secure VPN solutions in both internal and customer environments
- Support the planning, evaluation, and implementation of IT service changes
- Contribute to testing and quality assurance activities as part of the service lifecycle
- Install and configure VPN solutions in compliance with defined security standards
- Maintain, update, and enhance technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service stability and performance
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training in an IT-related field (e.g., system integration or application development) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in IT environments
Professional Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in service operations, including administration and support of IT and communication services
- Minimum 2 years of experience in incident management within a 2nd Level Support environment
- At least 2 years of experience in operation, administration, or troubleshooting of VPN solutions
- Experience in Windows operating system administration
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of VPN technologies and secure communication systems
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (ITIL Foundation or equivalent)
- Experience with troubleshooting, remote support, and system administration
- Familiarity with IT service management and structured support environments
Language Requirements
- German: C1 level
- English: B1 level
