Project and Department Overview

The role is part of a project management center of excellence that provides project management expertise, methods, standards, and practical support to different business and technical areas.

The position is assigned to an infrastructure service project environment responsible for managing and delivering programs and projects related to decentralized and centralized IT infrastructure. The role focuses on complex IT infrastructure projects, from solution development through implementation and operational handover.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Lead, coordinate, plan, and execute complex IT projects from solution development through commissioning and go-live.
• Translate customer requirements into new or existing IT processes, services, and technical solutions.
• Provide professional guidance throughout the development and implementation of IT solutions.
• Identify, manage, and coordinate dependencies, changes, and risks within program and project planning.
• Manage project teams, external suppliers, and service providers.
• Resolve conflicts related to project goals, stakeholder interests, priorities, and delivery constraints.
• Perform comprehensive stakeholder management across customers, business units, management, technical teams, and service providers.
• Plan and control project schedules, milestones, dependencies, progress, and deliverables.
• Ensure structured project reporting, documentation, and communication.
• Apply classical and agile project management methods depending on project context.
• Support project governance, escalation management, and decision preparation.
• Ensure that project objectives are delivered within agreed time, quality, and scope constraints.

Required Qualifications

The candidate should have:

• Successfully completed university degree in business administration, business informatics with an IT focus, information technology, or a comparable field.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including:
• MS Project
• Outlook
• Visio
• Word
• Excel
• PowerPoint
• Experience with SharePoint and Jira.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in classical and agile project management.
• Valid project management certification or equivalent qualification, such as:
• IPMA Level C
• PMI PMP
• PRINCE2 Practitioner
• Scrum PSM / PSPO
• PMI CAPM
• Equivalent qualifications may be accepted if supported by more than 8 years of relevant professional experience in project management.

Required Professional Experience

The candidate should have:

• At least 6 years of professional experience leading complex IT projects.
• Proven experience applying common project management methods in IT environments.
• Experience managing project planning, project controlling, milestones, dependencies, risks, and changes.
• Experience coordinating internal teams, external suppliers, and service providers.
• Experience in stakeholder management across technical, business, and management levels.
• Experience in IT infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
• Experience in regulated, public-sector, defence-related, or security-sensitive environments is an advantage.

Language Requirements

• German: C1 level according to CEFR.
• Proof of language level may be provided through a certificate, CV, reference, self-declaration, or equivalent evidence.
• Native German speakers are exempt from separate language proof.

If project references are required, they should include:

• Industry

• Short project description
• Time and duration of the candidate's assignment
• Detailed description of the candidate's responsibilities and activities in the project
