Position: Development Engineer (Component manager: Gearboxes)

Location: Kusterdingen, Germany

Type: Full-time/%20 Remote

Tasks:

• Responsible for technical components in the development of eBike drive units;
• Special focus on robustness, service life, NVH, and industrialization;
• Supporting components from A-sample to series release;
• Taking care of tolerance calculation, component design, drawing derivation, documentation, and clarification with suppliers;
• Commissioning validation samples and tests, interpreting test results, and deriving improvement measures;
• Taking into account schedule, quality, and cost targets;
• Collaborating in a cross-functional project team.
  

Requirements:

• Completed university degree (master's/diploma/doctorate) in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering with a focus on product development, design engineering, or a comparable degree program;
• Several years of professional experience in transmission development (especially planetary gears) and industrialization of gears, running and mating gears, shafts, roller and plain bearings, freewheels, shaft-hub connections;
• In-depth knowledge of the relevant manufacturing technologies such as machining, turned and milled parts, heat and surface treatment, hard machining, powder metallurgy, and forming technology;
• Confident use of CAD tools such as ProE/Creo, KissSoft /-Sys, MASTA, or FVA-Workbench, as well as MS Office;
• Creative, independent, consistent, and structured approach to work;
• Willingness to travel occasionally on business trips ~ 1-2 times per year
• Fluent in German and English (min. B2 level)
