GCP DevOps & Production Support Engineer

Salary: 250k to 300k

Time: 6PM to 3AM Monday to Friday

Location: Commercial Plaza, Street 2, No:73 Block D Naval Anchorage, Islamabad,

Job Description:

Provox Global is looking for a pragmatic, hands-on GCP DevOps & Production Support Engineer to join our Islamabad team on an onsite basis. In this role, you'll own the health, reliability, and performance of our production systems — spanning cloud infrastructure, databases, APIs, webhooks, scheduled jobs, and telephony workflows.

You'll work across the stack, moving comfortably from a Cloud Logging trace to a Node.js webhook, from a Dialogflow CX session issue to a Cloud SQL query, and from a failed deployment to an IAM or environment configuration problem.

This role suits someone who enjoys solving real operational problems, improving system reliability, and making production environments easier to monitor, debug, and maintain.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day GCP operations, including database administration, performance review, query troubleshooting, backups, and reliability
  • Monitor production health across webhooks, APIs, scheduled jobs, telephony flows, and database activity
  • Build and maintain alerting for process failures, uptime issues, webhook errors, latency, and abnormal transaction patterns
  • Manage GCP access control, IAM permissions, service accounts, and environment-level security
  • Provide Node.js development support for webhook services, API integrations, logging, and operational tooling
  • Support Dialogflow CX to webhook integrations, including request/response debugging, session parameter handling, fulfillment behavior, and environment deployment issues
  • Help diagnose production incidents across Dialogflow CX, Google Phone Gateway, SIP integrations, REST APIs, Cloud Logging, and Cloud SQL
  • Advise the internal team on clean implementation patterns, maintainability, observability, and production-safe deployment practices

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Build ad hoc operational reports from Cloud SQL, logs, and event tables
  • Support Dialogflow CX flow/playbook development and debugging
  • Assist with LLM prompt engineering for appointment triage, caller intent handling, and structured extraction workflows
  • Support Google Phone Gateway and SIP configuration management
  • Implement or improve CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build or similar tooling
  • Manage deployments across Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and App Engine where applicable
  • Support GitHub-based version control workflows and deployment branching practices
  • Improve automated testing, endpoint testing, and interactive debugging capabilities
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to ensure smooth releases and reliable production behavior

Required Qualifications

  • Professional English: Strong English communication skills are required, as all candidates will be working with US-based clients, where clear and professional communication is very important.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform in a DevOps, cloud engineering, or production support role
  • Practical experience with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, IAM, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and service accounts
  • Strong Node.js skills, especially for API services, webhooks, cloud functions, logging, and troubleshooting async/runtime behavior
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting MySQL or Cloud SQL environments
  • Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for operational reporting and diagnostics
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, preferably using Cloud Build and GitHub
  • Strong debugging discipline across distributed systems: logs, timestamps, request IDs, session IDs, retries, and failure correlation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a live production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Dialogflow CX, conversational agents, telephony bots, or IVR systems
  • Experience integrating Dialogflow CX with webhook services
  • Familiarity with Google Phone Gateway, SIP connectors, PSTN transfers, or contact-center telephony workflows
  • Experience with Cloud Shell, Cloud Code for VS Code, and local-to-cloud development workflows
  • Experience supporting serverless architectures at production scale
  • Experience designing uptime checks, alert policies, log-based metrics, and operational dashboards
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering or LLM-based classification/extraction workflows
  • Experience with healthcare, dental, scheduling, contact-center, or appointment-booking systems is a plus
