About the Role

Our client, a leading company in the marine-related crane industry, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Manager to lead and oversee their service operations. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing service technicians, coordinating shop assignments, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving profitability within the service department. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance technical knowledge with strong organizational and people management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a market for service work
  • Supervise and control the workload of service technicians
  • Schedule service work according to priority and maintain an orderly workflow
  • Advise customers on necessary repairs and preventative maintenance, including cost estimates
  • Handle customer complaints related to service and repair work
  • Supervise training of service technicians through in-house programs
  • Ensure service tools and vehicles are well maintained
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting accidents promptly
  • Develop service advertising and promotion programs
  • Assist Sales Manager in evaluating trade-ins and ensuring prompt reconditioning of equipment
  • Manage service department inventory of supplies and parts
  • Draft sales and operating budgets for the service department
  • Coordinate with Spare Parts, Sales, and Management teams
  • Ensure warranty claims are processed correctly
  • Support service personnel in diagnosing issues when needed
  • Recommend new equipment to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Work with Parts team to establish basic parts lists for overhaul jobs
  • Issue purchase orders for service department needs
  • Ensure service engineers submit accurate and timely job reports
  • Review service technicians timesheets and submit to HR promptly
  • Maintain service library and ensure compliance with quality management processes

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' service management experience within the marine-related crane industry
  • A strong technical background in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Strong knowledge of communications, finance, P&L, and cost management
  • Well-established GCC & UAE vendor/spare parts network
  • Previous role as Service or Project Manager within a similar organization or crane manufacturer (minimum 5 years)
  • Specialization in Ship cranes servicing OEM expertise
