Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality metering and packaged process systems for the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and Power Generation industries, with a presence in the UK and Russia. They are looking for a Financial Controller to join their team in Dubai who will be responsible to control of all financial matters, including overseeing financial operations, risk management & profit generation

Job Purpose:

To develop efficient and effective best practice approaches to financial policies, procedures and processes.

Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Preparation, review, and presentation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and KPIs.
  • Produce annual accounts and budgets.
  • Lead detailed project accounting and analysis, including P&L of projects and variance accounting.
  • Develop financial forecasts for production and inventory.
  • Implement full production variance accounting.

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

  • Take a lead role in developing, implementing, analysing, maintaining, and presenting strategic business and financial plans.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on the impact of price/cost changes within the business.
  • Provide financial support for future acquisitions and integrations.
  • Commercially assess NPI (New Product Introduction) programmes.

Operations and Systems Oversight:

  • Manage product accounting, including cash flow, invoicing, expediting invoice processes, and controlling supplier invoices.
  • Coordinate stock audits, adjust stock values, and ensure alignment with accounting systems.
  • Work on Sages project accounting module to report against projects and manage stock environment.
  • Develop and maintain a standard costing system for manufacturing complexities.

Risk and Compliance:

  • Monitor financial risks, including currency exposure, VAT compliance, payroll, and credit control.
  • Organise working capital finance, including letters of credit and bonds.
  • Manage insurance, tax, auditor liaison, and interactions with other advisors.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead the finance function to ensure effective and robust controls and processes.
  • Manage and mentor a finance team, ensuring high performance and growth.
  • Perform performance management for teams of various sizes.

Support and Liaison:

  • Provide financial support for R&D projects, including managing tangible and intangible assets and ensuring correct capitalisation/amortisation.
  • Support systems, processes, and reporting developments related to production and inventory.
  • Assist with company secretary duties as needed.

Requirements annd Experience:

  • Educational and Professional Qualifications: Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA-certified.
  • Essential: Experience in a product-based engineering industry, particularly manufacturing and production in Oil and Gas.
  • Multi-currency cross-border accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of discounted cash flow and assessment of NPV for LOBs.
  • Familiarity with R&D tax relief.
  • Sage system expertise, particularly analysis, codes, and the project accounting module.
