About the Company:
Our client is a well-established global logistics and shipping services provider with a strong presence in multiple regions. They are seeking an experienced COC Sales Manager (Carrier Owned Container Sales Manager) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience in container shipping sales and will be responsible for overseeing all global commercial activities related to COC-operated services. Female candidates are preferred for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align and execute commercial strategies across various countries, considering economic, cultural, and regulatory differences.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams across multiple regions, ensuring consistent alignment with company goals.
- Monitor and support sales teams globally to enhance their effectiveness and ensure targets are achieved.
- Conduct market research and analysis to provide insights for strategic decision-making and identify new growth opportunities.
- Serve as the key point of contact for high-level strategic discussions, representing the commercial interests globally.
- Oversee and ensure strong performance in terms of filling factor for COC services.
- Identify potential partnerships to stabilize services, develop trade services, and improve load volumes.
- Onboard new businesses and drive import volumes for both FOB and CIF clients, expanding cross-trade portfolios.
- Diversify client profiles and cargo mix for improved loading efficiencies.
- Lead, mentor, and coach sales teams to ensure KPIs and overall business objectives are met.
- Develop long-term strategies to boost revenue while optimizing cost efficiency.
- Assist in preparing budgets and proposals for future infrastructure and service developments.
- Ensure customer needs are well understood and met through strategic initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on sales achievements and performance metrics.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in container shipping sales within the shipping industry is essential.
- Strong track record of success in senior sales roles, especially in client relationship management and strategic growth.
- Proficiency in market analysis and developing sales strategies to increase market share.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities with the capacity to influence and guide.
- Knowledge of global maritime trade trends, market environments, and competitive landscapes.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in market research and forecasting.
- Experience with Salesforce platform and other sales tools is an advantage.
- Familiarity with MS Project or similar project management tools.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with senior management and international clients.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
