Position: Structural Engineer EIT
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer with an EIT certification, to join our growing team in Houston, TX. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and exciting projects in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and other structures
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure project deadlines are met
- Communicate with clients and provide technical support as needed
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards and codes
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on design decisions
- Assist with project cost estimates and budget management
- Conduct structural calculations and analysis using software and hand calculations
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors
- Mentor and train junior engineers and drafters as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering
- US Citizenship or Green Card is required
- EIT certification required, PE license preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector
- Proficient in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD
- Knowledge of building codes and standards, including ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings as needed
