Structural Engineer EIT

Position: Structural Engineer EIT

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer with an EIT certification, to join our growing team in Houston, TX. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and exciting projects in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and other structures
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications
• Collaborate with project team members to ensure project deadlines are met
• Communicate with clients and provide technical support as needed
• Keep up-to-date with industry standards and codes
• Participate in project meetings and provide input on design decisions
• Assist with project cost estimates and budget management
• Conduct structural calculations and analysis using software and hand calculations
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors
• Mentor and train junior engineers and drafters as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering
• US Citizenship or Green Card is required
• EIT certification required, PE license preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector
• Proficient in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and STAAD
• Knowledge of building codes and standards, including ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings as needed
