Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Operating Room

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (80 hours per pay period)
  • Work Hours: 6:30 AM 5:00 PM
  • Call Schedule:
    • 1 day per week
    • 1 weekend per month
    • On-call pay: $4.00/hour
    • Call-back: Minimum 2 hours of pay at time and a half

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening Shift (3:00 PM 11:30 PM): +8%
  • Night Shift (11:00 PM 7:30 AM): +11%
  • No Weekend Differential

About the Role:

Join a dynamic perioperative services team equipped with seven operating suites and state-of-the-art surgical technology, including the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution and the da Vinci Xi Surgical System. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Operating Room staff, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Day Surgery & Infusion teams.

Surgical specialties include:

  • General Surgery
  • Neurology & Neurology-Spine
  • Orthopedics & Orthopedic-Spine
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT)
  • Podiatry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a member of the sterile team, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
  • Prepare the operating room, open supplies, perform surgical scrub, and set up back tables with instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with draping and establishing sterile fields.
  • Anticipate surgical needs and pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies as required.
  • Perform needle and sponge counts with the circulating nurse.
  • Share on-call rotation with other staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Certification: Surgical Technician Certification (CST) preferred upon hire; required within 6 months of employment.
  • 2-3 years of acute care hospital-based operating room experience.
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, Spine, and Robotics.
  • Knowledge of surgical principles and procedures.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
