Responsible for the comprehensive care of assigned patients within their unit.
Conducting thorough assessments, reassessments, establishing nursing diagnoses, developing written care plans, implementing care, and evaluating patient outcomes.
Initiates health care education and training for patients and their families as needed, aligning with the goals of the Organization and the Department of Nursing.
Provides leadership and guidance to other team members to maintain the highest standards of nursing care.
Supervise both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff within assigned units.
Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous care and appropriate nursing coverage for all patients.
Deliver care to a diverse patient population, with attention to age-specific needs and diagnoses.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Associates degree required.
Required Skills:
Ability to function effectively in high-stress situations.
Strong verbal communication skills to convey information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
Ability to assume responsibility and accountability in providing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care within assigned units, demonstrating leadership qualities.
Cognitive and practical skills necessary to deliver appropriate nursing care, tailored to the age and diagnosis of the patient population, fully implementing the nursing process, including assessment/reassessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of employment.
Licenses:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
Additional Requirements:
BLS/CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
ACLS certification must be acquired within six months of employment.
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM, with rotating weekends.
