We are looking for a Head of Design to join the Collective! This role requires someone who truly understands who NAMED COLLECTIVE is for and the community we serve. Youll be responsible for creating designs that reflect our core values, culture, and mission. Youll ensure that every product stays true to our identity, supporting the brands purpose while evolving to meet the needs of our growing community!

THE ROLE
Lead and inspire the Design team, providing strategic direction to lead the creation of commercially successful product lines, driving innovation aligned with growth and sustainability goals.
Optimise processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Inspire and lead the Design team, ensuring cohesive, innovative, and commercially viable designs.
Collaborate with the Head of Product to define and execute the long-term product strategy, aligning creative and commercial goals.
Introduce new product categories and explore market opportunities.
Own the design process, managing approvals and improving the critical path to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
Oversee category collections, ensuring alignment with product direction, commercial targets, and brand consistency without compromising creativity.
Use expertise in garment fit, fabrications, and quality to ensure designs are functional and viable.
Review collections, provide feedback to drive improvement and recognise team contributions.
Work with the Brand and Creative teams to align product vision with brand assets.
Manage collaborations, ensuring alignment with project goals while maintaining commercial focus.
Lead research trips to stay connected with community, culture, and market trends.
Communicate customer and trade feedback, shaping product decisions and design evolution.
Ensure the story behind each collection is communicated across departments to maintain brand consistency.
Foster a collaborative environment that inspires and motivates the team.
Use market analysis and customer insights to guide product development and maintain competitiveness.
Mentor the Design Manager and team, providing guidance and clear growth objectives.
Conduct performance reviews, offering feedback and recognition to encourage development.
Set departmental OKRs aligned with company goals, driving continuous improvement.
Cultivate a workplace that empowers the team to perform at their best.

5+ years of design leadership experience within an aspirational fashion brand or company, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your impact.
Proven success in leading and developing a multi-disciplinary design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth.
A strong understanding of the design and creative process within fashion, from garment creation to final product delivery.
Demonstrated ability to balance creative innovation with commercial viability, ensuring designs not only inspire but also perform in the market.
Strong collaboration skills with internal stakeholders, such as Brand, Creative, and Product teams, to ensure cohesion across all aspects of the product vision.
Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for pushing creative boundaries, with a focus on innovative and forward-thinking approaches to design.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
Strong awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments, keeping the brand ahead of the curve in design and innovation.
