Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Drilling Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will perform essential drilling tasks for soil investigation projects as directed by the Operations Manager. Responsibilities include leading daily crew activities, handling material changes, addressing defects, and resolving equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct well drilling, general field testing, sampling, and installation of all monitoring wells.
- Supervise the work of assistants and ensure safe performance of duties.
- Troubleshoot drilling and mechanical problems within your capability.
- Assist in the mechanical repair of drilling rigs as necessary.
- Pre-load drilling rigs and vehicles, preparing them for the next day's work.
- Maintain and care for drilling rigs and associated vehicles.
- Clean and maintain the hangar and yard.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in drilling operations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Relevant certification or training in drilling operations is an asset.
Conditions:
- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $23 to $28.
- Shifts of 8-10 hours.
