Entry-Level Residential MEP Designer

Arcxis is seeking MEP designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled in Mechanical design and Engineering of residential structures. This includes any aspects of HVAC in production of Manual J, S, and D calculation, duct layout designs and integration with frame design, plumbing or electrical designers, for single family and townhomes.

Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and coordinate with fellow Engineers, and Designers to ensure cross department Engineering and Design integration to facilitate stakeholder satisfaction with projects.

Salary will be commensurate with experience as we are seeking individuals both licensed and non-licensed.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• HVAC/mechanical design job duties will be to produce Manual J, S, and D calculation and designs using Wrightsoft and Elite, and final construction documents in AutoCAD
• Plumbing or electrical designers encouraged to apply as well. You do not have to have experience in all aspects of residential MEP design
• Generate detailed  design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction.
• Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
• Work with design staff and drafters to complete projects

Competencies:

• AutoCAD (will train)
• Elite and/or Wrightsoft (will train)
• The ability to read blueprints.
• Compute dimensions from architectural plans (will train)
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work well with other Engineers/Designers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Energy and building code compliance for mechanical systems. 
• Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
• Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
• Self-directed, with good initiative and a great multi-tasker
• Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, etc)

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Preferred (but not required) Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferred (but not required) 1+ years experience in Mechanical Design and drafting for residential building systems, code compliance, and/ or construction. (AutoCAD)
• Preferred (but not required) 1+ years experience with Residential Heat load Calculation. (Wrightsoft or Elite)
