Fitter - Port Elizabeth Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mechanical inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.  This role plays a critical part in minimising equipment failures, reducing downtime and ensuring continuous and efficient production operations all while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Trade Test: Fitter or Fitter and Turner (NQF 5)
• 2-3 years mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and repair skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP/ERP systems).
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair equipment faults to reduce downtime.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Perform inspections and quality checks to ensure equipment compliance.
• Provide support to production teams by resolving process-related issues.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Assist with training and mentoring of apprentices.
• Uphold safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards.
