About the job Manager - Member Consultant Retirement (Sandton) Permanent
Senior role - Management level: Deliver member training, education, and induction sessions on Retirement benefits across employer groups. The role focuses on engaging members, explaining scheme rules and benefits, supporting employer HR teams, and ensuring members understand their options and entitlements. The consultant will travel regularly to employer sites nationally and act as a subject-matter specialist on medical aid products, rather than focusing on administration.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate on-site and virtual member induction and training sessions for new joiners, annual option changes, and wellness events.

Present scheme benefits, option structures, contribution rates, and claims processes in a clear and engaging way to diverse employee groups.

Provide guidance and support to HR/Payroll teams on communicating medical aid information to employees.

Respond to complex member queries during training sessions and escalate issues to senior consultants or administrators where necessary.

Develop training materials, presentations, and information packs tailored to each client group.

Maintain accurate records of sessions delivered, attendance, feedback, and outstanding queries.

Stay up to date with scheme changes, industry regulations, and competitor products to provide accurate, relevant training.

Build and maintain strong relationships with employer HR teams and scheme administrators.

Support broader client-servicing team with renewal processes by delivering communication campaigns to members.
Skills & Experience Required
8 - 10 years experience in Retirement fund consulting, employee benefits consulting,

Strong knowledge of South African Retirement fund legislation, benefit options, and claims processes.

Proven track record in training, facilitation, or public speaking comfortable engaging groups from shop floor staff to executives.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to simplify technical information for non-technical audiences.

Confident presenting in English (other South African languages highly advantageous).

Ability to travel nationally on a regular basis (drivers licence and own vehicle essential).

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage schedules, training logistics, and reporting.

Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) ability to create professional presentations.

Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12 minimum.
- RE1 and RE 5 qualification

Diploma or degree in HR, Benefits, Training & Development, or Insurance/Healthcare-related field preferred.
