Senior Financial Accountant Winelands Permanent

A well-established wine and hospitality estate is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the Financial Manager and drive the smooth running of the finance function.

What we are looking for

• BCom Accounting degree or similar qualification
• SAIPA articles completed (advantageous)
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• 3+ years' experience in the wine or beverage manufacturing industry (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of Sage Evolution or a similar accounting package
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Exposure to Easipos or a similar point-of-sale system (advantageous)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
• Self-driven, accountable and takes ownership of deliverables
• Able to build good working relationships across departments
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

What you will do

• Manage wine production costing and analyse sales and margins
• Prepare and submit monthly returns
• Process the cash book, petty cash and daily cash-up reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger and process journals
• Manage local and foreign debtors, including invoicing and collections
• Manage local and foreign creditors, including reconciliations and payment runs
• Process international payments and calculate forex differences and revaluations
• Oversee stock administration, including invoice capturing and monthly stock counts
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Administer insurance policies and handle claims
• Assist with the annual audit
